Buying from outside the UK
As the UK has now left the EU, there are now additional charges our European customers will be expected to pay in the form of duties and taxes.
We have outlined below the most commonly asked questions regarding buying from outside the UK. However if there is anything left unanswered please get in touch with us at hello@bellsbicycles.co.uk
- What charges are there likely to be?
There are two possible charges you may need to pay - duties and taxes.
- Will I be charged both duties and taxes?
Upon arrival, all EU countries will charge tax (VAT) on your order unless it is zero rated - see the table below for your local VAT rate.
Items manufactured in the UK should not incur duties whereas products manufactured outside the UK will. We are not informed what the duties will be prior to dispatch.
- Will I be paying tax twice - once in the UK and again on arrival?
No, the product is listed at the full price (inc VAT) however, you have the option to remove the UK VAT at checkout by using the discount code TAX FREE
- Who pays the tax and import duties?
The customer. We have removed the UK tax (VAT) but we do not cover the tax and duties at the destination country. Please note that the destination VAT and import duties figure you are charged may be greater than the VAT discount we have given.
- How do I pay the charges?
Your courier will contact you on arrival to pay whatever charges their may be.
- How much VAT will I need to pay on arrival?
See below the expected VAT rates for each country. These figures may be subject to change without notice.
