Genesis Croix de Fer 40 Gravel Bike
A high-spec steel gravel bike for fast mixed-surface riding, touring and adventure.
About this product
The Genesis Croix de Fer 40 is built around a Reynolds 725 steel frame with a chromoly fork, giving a strong, comfortable ride for gravel, road, commuting and longer-distance touring.
It comes with a Shimano GRX 1x12 drivetrain, hydraulic disc brakes and 700x45mm tubeless-ready tyres, making it one of the most capable builds in the Croix de Fer range.
What sets it apart
The Croix de Fer 40 steps up to a simple 1x12 GRX setup, wide-range gearing and confident hydraulic braking. It keeps the practical mounts and steel ride feel the Croix de Fer is known for, but with a cleaner, more gravel-focused spec.
Why we like it
It’s tough, comfortable and properly capable. A great choice if you want one bike for commuting, gravel, touring and longer rides without feeling under-equipped.
Best for
Gravel riding, bikepacking, touring, commuting and all-weather adventure riding.
